I've been drawing pretty much the same image every year around this time for a while now. But, well, what more do I need to say? "The days stop getting shorter, celebrate!" is worth saying again and again in slightly new ways. Today's not the solstice; that's this coming Monday but I'm too distractable to hang on to it for a few days.

So, yeah, enjoy your winter celebrations and have a great 2010! ♥

Thanks, I needed to see this today. If not for my space heater I would be going double deluxe mad right now.

Same here, I did this while pretty much curled up around the new heater I got for my studio last weekend!

Yeah, seriously, I am ready to be done with all this damn darkness.

You've really been enjoying using a grain filter lately. What quality do you think it adds to your work?

I've been using one as a matter of course for ages - this piece from 2005 is the oldest I can find at the moment but it's not necessarily the first. It's a part of my templates for Absinthe. Basically it adds a bit of randomness to the hyperperfection of Illustrator; it creates a bit of the look of airbrush on illustration board, which is what I suspect I'd be doing if I had the funds and computer art programs had never come along.

It fucks things up some, and that's important.

That's really pretty, Peggy.

I know it wasn't a very useful thing to say, but it is true. :"D

That is fantastic and gorgeous. It needs to be a poster for a New Years'/Solstice/Beltaine/Festivus celebration somewhere!

It's Illustrator, it would be trivially easy for her to send it up to that size, I believe. Which is an idea that I too endorse.

Here comes the new sun, same as the old sun. *giggle*

Really though, it's pretty. It reminds me of an RP I did once where a friend of mine transformed me into every rainbow.

Yeah we do a lot of celestial type TFs, stars, nebula, planets, and occasionally turn eachother into the basic forces of nature and concepts of existance.

When things get fucked up, they get interesting. I know musicians who spend ages trying to add 'wow' to their otherwise perfect audio environments. Indeed, one trick it to record to DAT and rip back to wav.

Lovely! Yayness!
