major arcana #7: The Chariot
...by all her aspects
[info]shatterstripes

This month-old image came to mind after I did my original sketch for the Chariot. I gave thought for using it for Strength but it didn't happen. Looking at what I drew, I decided that my rough had some nice qualities - interestingly distracted expressions on both sphinxes, a general sense of nobody driving - but was, ultimately, nothing more and nothing less than "Peggy's take on the Smith-Waite imagery". Which is boring. So I appropriated this from a month ago instead and did a little touch-up on it. Now it refers to the familiar image, but inverts and transforms it.

Neat! Will you be selling the finished set?

Assuming I finish it! There's 67 more images to do and who knows what'll happen before then?

Thanks!

I'm mostly trying to let these images stand alone, but that bit of re-use had to be explained...

The stories you add to your discards make them valuable too.

Didn't I see this another another piece of yours?

Yes. I liked it a lot and realized it perfectly illustrated the themes layered in this card, sooo...

You drew a Chakat!!!!11!

A cyber chakat!

(The spread of Doove's "chakat" label for "cat-taur" is one I've always been amused by. I see people who weren't born when that term was invented using it, and wonder how long it'll survive. If I see it in a completely non-furry work...)

So glad to see you used this. It's such an endearing scene. :)

Yes! Yes yes yes!

Transforming the traditional interpretation of "Conquest" and "Inflexibility" into one of "Cooperation" and "Choosing One's Identity".

And so very PEGGY.

Ahhh, thank you for reusing this image. I think it's better suited to the card and it's goddamn adorable at that. It just seems kind of lost among all the other brightly colored figures in the original. :)
