The Golden Dawn calls this the Lord of Earned Success; TAC* labels it Science. I felt that this was one of Crowley's changes worth keeping.

This is the first serious number card to make it through Illustrator. The 99 of Pentacles was mostly a quick joke, and an opportunity to test my minor template and intended color scheme with something easy to do. The response to my deadpan writeup of it is making me think that maybe I should include it, and the other 99s, in the deck. Especially [info]kamenkyote's comment on Furaffinity about 99 being, in this day and age, 'the most you can have of anything' due to lazy programmers only creating two-digit counters. If it doesn't make it into the deck proper, well, it'll be something to put in the booster packs! *grin*

All the minors will be reduced-color like this - a key color suitable to the suit, black, and white. I'll let myself throw in tiny bits of other colors (like the blue electric glow) but I really like the idea of the Major Arcana being very obviously something different from the number cards! I'm not sure what I'll do with the court cards, yet - they're something in between the numbers and the Majors, and perhaps their coloring should reflect this.

I thought that Crowley was the boss of the Golden Dawn? Was he the boss of a different mystic organization? I think I need an occult history refresher. If only the tuition at the Miskatonic University wasn't so high!

I was serious about the 99 of Cups being over nine thousand by the way. That modern view of limitless energy held in queue, represented by a glowing aura of light and floating pebbles. The very essence of potential energy.

Just as my thoughts, inspired by your art. ^.^

Nah. Crowley was a member of the GD, and started a few mystic organizations after the GD broke up.

That's a DVGirl cameo and you know it. If not intentionally, at least retroactively. :)

Pretty cute one, too.

Additionally, you know, I have to watch you poop this stuff out every day, and now even I'm going GOD, YES, PEGGY, FINISH THIS SO I CAN BUY ONE...

Yeah, it pretty much turned into that during the pencils!

Oh, hey, this is pretty awesome. It rather reminds me of one of my better childhood memories. :)

My cousin and I used to go into our grandfather's garage and find scraps of pipe and pound and sharpen them into swords which we would then use to cut cardboard boxes, small plants and whatever else was in the way. That was fun times.

Good lord - all sorts of fiddly bits to delight the technocrat in me. And gloves that I fucking covet.

Me, too. They have no real-world antecedent in our household, unfortunately.

I love that the card could represent electrolytic cleaning, or electrolytic rusting, solely dependent on whether that's the first of the swords down from the wall, or the last to go back..

oh wow, simply amazing! I like your ideas for the suit-colours. Very cool.
