Will and Fire. Force.

Traditionally, Wands are associated with Fire, while Pentacles are associated with Earth. Given that Wands are often shown as live, growing branches, I find them to be much more appropriate for Earth.

Are...are those little flaming salamanders as cindersparks?

If yes. wow.
If no, Still...wow.

Yep! The art brush I used to make them is even called 'salamander'.

Hm. My first thought was Starro, the mind-controlling face-hugging starfish from DC comics.

Sigh. I really like this one for some reason. And probably not for the reasons many others will. :) [Now with 20% less assumption!]

These images push all kinds of buttons in people. Which means I'm getting things right.

Is it the diagrammatic lines around her? 'Cause I am SO HOT for those...

this one's really hot *snicker*

seriously though, lines and babes.

And masks. The mask is important. I think.

This whole deck was originally going to be a 'xenofetish Tarot', and that peeps through now and then. This is neither the first nor last card that has intentional sex appeal!

The mask really draws the eyes. I'm not sure if it's quite working for me, though. The first impression I get is that her face was erased and a star drawn in its place. I don't really have the artistic vocabulary to describe what I mean, I think. Maybe just that it doesn't quite look like a mask, and doesn't quite look like a blank face, but more like a quirk of illustration. In any case, that's the closest I can think of to criticism of this piece.:)

I really dig the slightly wavy edges to the illustration.

I could probably put a bit of a shadow behind the mask or something - but I kinda like it being obscure as to what's going on! Having her face erased and a star drawn in kinda fits the way I'm going with this whole deck. Maybe I'm just crazy.

no, i love the seamless mask-as-face. it's one of my favorite things.

coolcoolcool!
This deck is going to look AMAZING.

Obviously, switching to the hyper-limited palette is working in my favor. Thanks!

Incidentally, I know X-ratedness is not the intention -- and that's why this is true -- but this deck is already sexier than the entire adult shelf at Million Year Picnic put together.
