Material gain. Compounding of interest. Power begets power.
I was going to have arcane symbols like the formula for compound interest written on the sticks in the pond, but I couldn't think of anything besides that. Maybe when I revise this for the final deck I'll do that. This one changed a lot from the original sketch; my intent was for this to be inside, and I didn't mean for her to look like Laurie Anderson, either!
In general, the Wands have been the hardest suit for me to do - this is why they're the only number cards that are left. The themes of material gain just don't really click with me. And green is a tough color to work with, monochromatically. I've only got three of them left to do for the show and I'm really not looking forwards to them.

i=(FV/PV)^(1/n)-1 [simple interest]
A=P(1+r/n)^nt [compound interest]
[Xe] 4f14 5d10 6s1 (abbreviated electron configuration of gold)
αJ=Ri-(Rf+βiM*(RM-Rf)) ["Jensen's alpha"]
it=ln((iy+F)/(iP+F)) [cash accumulation equation]
x=(e^-t)/(1+e^-t)^2 [the Hubbert peak equation]
Dp(p,w)=Dph(p,u)-DwX(p,w)x(p,w)T [the Slutsky equation -- I swear to god :) ]
y(p)=δπ(p)/δp

But then reality set in and I was forced to admit to myself that, let's face it, the eminent Mr. Reed is not an easy man to make pretty. All the other mythical beasts would giggle at him and shun him, and Laurie would be forced to drink whiskey and wrestle them all to the ground.
