Panorama of the show (big image: 13672x1607, 1.7M)
When we got to the gallery, one of the first things I did was to take a panorama of the whole thing, before there was really anyone there. At the far right you can see [info]ff00ff, [info]postrodent, and [info]koogrr - sorry you guys got kinda cut off, I didn't want to get lost in playing with the panorama stitcher I used!

Then I handed the camera off to Rik, because I knew I'd be too busy talking with visitors to actually use it.

At first, it was pretty empty.

But it started to fill up.

It really started to fill up.

There were a lot of people there!

And I stalked around talking to a lot of them.

There were a hell of a lot of people there. All to look at my art. I didn't really process that until after the show, but when I did, it felt pretty awesome.

Okay, maybe they were also there for the free munches and the free booze.

Either way, there were a ton of people there! Nobody bought the sketchbook (which I really wasn't expecting to move) but the hand-made prototype got sold, along with a decent sampling of the rest of the show.

Afterwards, we went out to a place called Christopher's for dinner with all our friends who came in for the show. And one guy who just kinda trailed along with the group.

Left side (L-R): my mom, Rik, Cube, Kevin, ff00ff, Bill's girlfriend Kaz (well, the back of her head), Bill (hidden by his girlfriend), the waitress.
Right side (R-L): Nick's hand, Rachael, Frostbyte, Cassandra, the tag-along, Koogrr (not visible), Chris. I think there was someone else between Koogrr and Chris but I can not remember who it was; I was just a little bit dazed by this point!
Front and center: the raspberry cheesecake martini I had. It was exactly as bad an idea as it sounded.

This is so many shades of awesome, I think the color picker would resign. Tons and tons of congrats go out to you, dear girl. You deserve a night like this at least. And the best part, as you noted; they were all there to see your art!

so happy for you :) it was awesome, yeah!

Holy crap, turnout! Congraturation!

It looks glorious! Congratulations! :-)

Aww, I wish I coulda been there! Congractications!

Wow, it all looks fantastic. The panorama is especially great, since you captured so many people just 'doing their thing'. Just what is that woman looking for behind the bathroom door?

I think she was looking for an electrical outlet. There was a projector set up there later showing someone's video project "Wormhole" which was also being shown in a small room off to the side which like, seemed to captivate up to 3 people at a time before they drifted back to the pretty colors @.@

Wow, I didn't think anybody would actually know. ^.^

Yeah, I followed clusters of art appreciators around the gallery eavesdropping on their conversations. They'd say funny things speculating on what media peggy used to make the tarot deck. They'd comment on the peculiarities of various pieces. They'd always stop and stair at the high priestess card, and whenever they passed the "Wormhole" presentation they'd stair at it transfixed for a moment before wondering "What the fuck does this have to do with anything? Before moving on to more cards, which was pretty much my attitude about the thing being there n.n

Sweet genius. I'm impressed and I'm a bit giddy for you. That's so awesome. :D

Woohoo! \o/

Looks like much fun was had by all. Wish I could have been there for it...

Fun was seriously had, it beat the heck out of Akira. :) Great seeing all y'all again.

Congrats! Looks like you got quite a crowd. :D

BIG congratulations!!! Peg you rule, you totally deserve to bask in the accolades!!!!!

Yay!
Congratulations you totally utterly deserve it!
x

Félicitations!
It's great that you got such a big crowd.
The panorama picture is wonderful.
(That guy with the yellow shirt looks like Bjorn Borg reincarnated!)

It was an awesome show! I've never been to a gallery opening before and it was quite exciting. When we were out about town, we saw your name in lights advertizing the show on a scrolling board. It's big, an incredible accomplishment and I'm very glad to have visited.

Thanks for letting me hang about and all the stories you told me about the cards. You were handling the crowd very well.

Also, Rik's comp has the pictures I took in a Peggy's show directory.

The tag-along is Vincent, he followed me from the art show because I'm a super mega double hottie.

Uh... it could also be because he's like one of the first furries I ever met online and when he heard I was coming to Boston he wanted to meet me, which I recommended he do at the art show, which he was only able to find after becoming lost in Boston, so we only saw each other the first time right as the show was closing so I had him come with the rest of your entourage so we could eye each other funnily in meatspace for a little while. By pure coincidence Vincent was also a member of Puzzlebox muck, so you might have known him under some alias or other yourself!

Ahhhhhhhh. It makes much more sense now!

Congratulations. It's been fascinating watching this project come to fruition over the past year, it's a real testament to your dedication. Thankyou for sharing it!

I looked over your tarot project and I absolutely LOVE the concept and artistic talent that you poured into it. The only thing that I have to comment on though is that the Wand suit is the Fire suit, and the Pentacle Suit is the Earth suit. In the deck, you have them swapped, which I guess is alright. I mean, it flows better artistically! You're probably already aware of this, haha, but I thought that it was worth mentioning.

Otherwise I'm glad it was such a success! If I wasn't so attached to my current deck I'd order one ASAP! :)

Thanks!

And yes, swapping the elemental associations of Pents and Wands was a very deliberate choice I made; it just made a lot more sense to me that way.
